Did you realize that when hungry, people may get angry?
Why?
Indeed, people get mad when hungry because of the lack of sugar in their body, sending higher cortisol (stress hormone) levels, changing our mood, and making us get angry. Sugar causes the difference. And, when we talk about sugar, we have some categories. They are:
• glucose;
• fructose;
• sucrose;
• maltose;
• lactose;
• dextrose;
• starch.
They are the sugars we may eat every day, and we don't know. If we eat something sweet, the first thing that happens is our tongue taste receptors send the message to the brain. If we eat more than enough sugar, the gut releases more insulin to control it. Sugar can be as addictive as some drugs. That feeling of reward happens when we eat correctly, keeping the meal balanced.
It is essential to eat regularly; it will help your body release energy slowly and keep the sugar levels fine. You may eat nuts and seeds, but never forget a piece of chocolate cake doesn't hurt when you eat once in a while.
