Why?
Less is more when packing heavy items, such as cans, juice, soda, and jars. If you bag them all together, chances are the shopping bag will rip or be too heavy to carry.
✓Avoid overloading your customers' bags by not placing more than six cans together.
✓Aim to blend some heavy and light items in each bag.
✓Ensure to pack lighter items on top, which enables an even distribution of the weight of the heaviest items across the grocery bags. It also makes them easier to carry around.
✓Don't double bag: if you use paper bags, double bagging is virtually never needed. Today's paper bags are engineered to easily hold 25 pounds - even though you don't want your customers' bags to be this heavy!
