Why?

#8 Excessive production, or overproduction, occurs when more products are made than the customer requires. It then becomes inventory that might need to be transported to-and-fro. In an ever-changing scenario, what happens to excessive production? It becomes a waste! Here are a few examples of excessive production waste: ✦ Printing and filing of unnecessary documents. ✦ Creation of meals that are not eaten or partially eaten. ✦ Cars that sit unsold in a car dealer lot. Ask yourself: ✦ Are you producing what your customers need? ✦ Are you keeping up with demand? ✦ Would a just-in-time production system help you hit the mark? ✦ Do you provide the service customers are asking for when they reach you?
