Why?
Fidgeting comes in many forms, and some of the ways you can do it are by twirling a lock of hair, bouncing your knee, playing with objects on the table, tapping your foot on the ground, or rubbing your nose.
Sometimes we do it out of nervousness or anxiety, but they're distracting nonetheless.
Joe Navarro, a former FBI agent who lectures extensively on non-verbal communication, says, "You don't want to do things that distract, you want to do things that entice,"
So next time you're in a meeting, try focusing on making eye contact, tilting your head to show interest, and keeping your hands visible. He says these minor body adjustments will make you look more attentive.
