Why?

Here are four strategies you can use every day in order to cultivate emotional intelligence in your organization: ✓Role model emotional intelligence - show EQ through your actions, for they speak louder than words. ✓Make EQ part of your organization’s core values - values are the heart of the company, so when EQ is presented as one of the organization’s principles, the importance of building rapport and trust among everyone in the business is elevated. ✓Create an environment that boosts EQ - You can offer your employees learning programs on EQ and then measure and track emotional intelligence so they can see their progress. It’s also pertinent to afford manager training and leadership development programs on EQ. ✓Hold your people and organization accountable - clearly communicate your expectations and then hold people accountable for meeting them. There must be consequences when people fail to engage with others or aren’t able to show self-control. Make sure also to recognize and reward emotionally intelligent employees to validate your words with a practical attitude. Photo by Polina Zimmerman on Pexels
