Why?

First things first, you have to learn as much as you can about the company you are applying for:

⦿ What are their values and policies?

⦿ What are their goals?

⦿ What do they look for in a new associate?

You must:

⦿ Study the organization you want to work with—Who are they? What do they do? What are their values? and what kind of people they employ now?

⦿ Find out what they want the successful applicant to actually do—get a job description if possible.

⦿ Prepare some questions and then speak to the contact person.

⦿ Be realistic—apply for jobs you can do and that your background supports.
