Why?

So, as a Deli Associate, you are expected to move some boxes around, stand all day by the counter and cut some packages open. That makes it crucial to assess if these everyday tasks offer risks to your health or safety. Ask yourself and your co-workers the following questions: ■ Are knives kept sharp? ■ Are counter heights and widths appropriate for employees? ■ Are scales, slicers, etc., positioned so that work can be performed at about elbow height? ■ Are routine job tasks performed without holding hands/wrists in a bent or twisted position? ■ Are box weights within the lifting ability of employees? ■ Are tool handles the right size (not too large or too small) for the worker?
