Why?

A security report should be written anytime an unusual activity or incident occurs, and the sooner it's written, the better. The meaning of an incident depends on the business, but it is usually written in case of: • Theft and break-ins • Fire, flood, or blood • Employee misuse of property • Trespassing • The Fire Department, Police Department or EMS being on site • Anytime a security officer is involved Source: Bloom, Leslie.
