Why?

Providing children activities they can confidently accomplish is crucial to help develop their self-esteem and sense of confidence. Dr. Owen says that "Work may include homework, helping a sibling, maintaining personal hygiene, volunteer work, and age-appropriate household chores. Children who are involved in completing daily household chores have higher self-esteem, are more responsible, are better able to delay gratification, and report higher academic achievement."
