In that sense, here are some red flags to look for: ✓ Repeatedly picking up items and replacing them; ✓ Moving away from employees; ✓ Moving products to different packaging; ✓ Looking around to see whether they're being watched; ✓ Swapping price tags; ✓ Watch for nervous customers who have wandering eyes, are loitering, or lingering in hidden areas; ✓ Watch groups of people, especially if a person tries to distract you; Keep in place a communication code between team members to help spot and identify shoppers presenting these behaviors.
