Why?

MISTAKE #03: Asking about budget too early in the conversation. To avoid wasting the salesperson's time, some businesses train and encourage their employees to evaluate if a person is a potential customer quickly. Although it might seem like a good strategy, it can lead to uncomfortable questions early in the interaction. Questions like "Do you have a budget?" or "Are you ready to buy it today?" can put customers on the defensive and ruin their experience. Some customers might tell you their budget, but putting them in this kind of situation might make them feel judged if they can't find anything within that budget. They may leave the store empty-handed and never come back. Source: Retaildoc.com, 2020. Photo by Karolina Grabowska from Pexels
