Why?

Tip #3 - Store your food correctly! It is anything but safe to put raw food and ready-to-eat food together. So, store raw and cooked products away from each other!!! If possible, keep raw products and cooked or ready-to-eat products in separate freezers. Yet, if separating them is not an option, store ready-to-eat foods above foods that need cooking before consumption. Another possible way out is to store them on opposite sides. Be that as it may, you can never keep raw products over ready-to-eat or cooked foods. Juices from the uncooked products could drip onto them and cross-contaminate them. And you don't want that to happen!!! In case the product was on display, return it to the cooler in a tightly covered dish labeled with the product name, sell-by date, and the date the product was on display. Now watch this video from International Dairy Deli Bakery Association to see their hints on food storage. You can watch from 6:07 to 7:12: https://youtu.be/VknaD1wn3ZI.
