Why?

Your notes should be organized, but they can flow freely. Each page, or section should first be labelled with the source that you are currently reading for information. This way you'll always know which info came from which source. After you write the source, you can take notes however makes sense for you. For me, I prefer bullets. One bullet for each note. Others may prefer flow charts, or sticky notes etc... Just make sure that it is clear where the info came from. To be really organized, you could choose a color for each subtopic. For example I may be writing about Lions. I'll write information about where they live in blue, what they eat in orange and their behaviors in green. This way I'll know where the info came from, and I'll quickly be able to choose the correct info for the part of my report that I am writing. Any quotes should be written in quotations and include the page number if applicable.
