Why?

So your initial perceptions should be written as a description of the problem. That would incorporate strategic impact, financial impact, organizational impact, supply chain, and other pertinent details (whatever applies to your scenario). Focus on qualitative information. Then you move on to the breakdown of the problem. That would be a statement identifying the causes and specifics of the pain. Here you should focus on quantitative information. Remember the idea is to provide customers with what they need when they need it, and in the best way you can. Avoiding whatever wastes come your way in the process.
