You can role-play your script with coworkers! You can practice with your friends and family and even ask them to go harsh on you, so you can be ready to face your anxiety in the face of that.
Keep your eyes on the ball and train your brain to learn that nothing is frightening about it. But don't shoot for the moon just yet.
The real deal is still going to put up a fight, but once you've practiced enough, a couple of attempts after role-playing will calm you down and help you get into a productive vibe.
Extra Note: Besides practicing a lot, remember to include in your script a killer line that offers something of value to your lead instead of asking for something. That way, you can reduce anxiety even further.
Weldon Long exemplifies with the following line:
"I am calling today to find the best way to send you a complimentary report on ways to increase productivity in your industry."
