Why?
MISTAKE #10: Making promises you can’t keep.
Sometimes salespeople want to close a deal so badly that they lie to the customer about the products. Promising and not delivering can be bad for your business because it creates expectations that cannot be met. It's never a good idea to exaggerate the product's features or hide its limitations. Customers will see that, and no one wants to spend their money on lies. Instead, let the customers sell the product to themselves. Be a guide, ask appropriate questions to get the customer in the right direction, they will soon be convinced that they want to buy. Another strategy is to under-promise and over-deliver. When customers don't have high expectations, they'll be surprised about the product's features and benefits. So, keep in mind that dishonest sales are never good for your business, and they can make you not only lose a customer but also hurt the business name and future deals.
