MISTAKE #07: Selling only what the customer asks for. It's common nowadays for people to research online before deciding to go to a store. When they do decide to look for a specific product in person, some employees will just point it out to them or say they don't have it. Here's the problem: your customer might never discover what other options your business has to offer, what product you have with the same or even better function. They are not given the opportunity of comparing and contrasting, and it makes the success of your business dependent on specific products your customers ask for, not on what you have to offer.
