The first quadrant consists of your most important and urgent tasks—those which need to be done urgently. Think thoroughly before putting tasks in this category. You need to analyze your priorities, determine which tasks fit the Urgent & Important criteria, and which could be put in another quadrant later on. And remember: pick tasks that cannot be delayed anymore and those that need to be done within a day or no longer than the next.

Examples: • Car stalls on the highway; • Clients come to you with a pressing problem; • A last-minute deadline is assigned to you.
