Why?

No, no, no! I hear people saying this very often and it makes me cringe. It is really easy to unintentionally plagiarize in this day and age. We have to be really careful. It doesn't matter if it was an "accident" or on purpose, plagiarism is plagiarism and you will get caught. When you find a piece of information that you want to use, change it up, reword it somehow for your notes. Then when you are ready to communicate what you've found, you can reword it yet again as you are putting all the information together into paragraphs. The ONLY time it's ok to copy/paste something, is if you will be quoting the author. In this case, make sure to include quotation marks and the page number (if applicable) of where the quote came from. If you need help with how to take good notes, stay tuned. I'll be putting out a course on this topic very soon.
