Why?

You will make your coworkers feel respected if you show them that you are listening. It is called active listening, and it is very important. If it is not considered rude, then make eye contact with the speaker, nod and clarify if needed to show them that you are listening and interested in what they have to say. It will make the team feel at ease and help create a welcoming environment where people feel comfortable sharing their ideas and opinions.
