Why?
Ethics come first!
If you are a security guard in charge of keeping control of access to an area that only authorized people can enter, so be it! Be ethical!
No one, including your friends or over-friendly people, is allowed in unless they've got permission!
When you get caught up in such situations:
➜ Explain calmly why the person is not allowed;
➜ Explain security procedures that are in place;
➜ Ask for identification and explain the importance of it;
➜ Explain where the person can get permission to access that area (if possible);
Be friendly and patient. Explaining procedures, even when not asked, might help prevent unnecessary behavior from some customers.
