Why?

Well, both suggestions fit the context, but only the first one is a cross-sell. In the second one, the cashier would be upselling by offering a more expensive brand. In contrast, in the first one, they are bundling products to complement the customer's purchase. Remember that as a cashier, you are contributing to marketing when cross-selling or upselling. Still, you have to make sure that you are not being pushy. Otherwise, customers might get upset and not be comfortable coming back again.
