Why?

You can add your education section above your work experience, but it's not that simple! You have to be strategic about where you are going to place it. Consider the answer to these questions:

⦿ Are you experienced?

⦿ Are you applying for a job that requires a degree (or any career that puts extra emphasis on that)?

⦿ Have you recently graduated?

In short:

⦿ If you have solid experiences in your career, your resume's education section should be at the bottom of your resume.

⦿ If you have recently graduated from college, your education section goes above your work experience.

Note: Recent grads can include relevant coursework, societies, organizations, and extracurriculars that strengthen your chances of success.

⦿ If you want to highlight Awards, Accolades, & Certifications, they can have their own section. Relevant certifications and honors will increase your credibility. Otherwise, they should be embedded in your skills and experiences.

Basic education information you must provide:

⦿ Name of Institution.

⦿ Degree.

⦿ School Location.

⦿ Years Attended.
