Why?

If you are long-winded, or have trouble saying what you mean in the moment, then preparation can go a long way. Jot down some simple short notes to help you get your main points across quickly and clearly. Making sure that you are saying things clearly and concisely (in as few words as possible) will help your colleagues to listen better. We've all had that boss that tells a million stories a day. They can talk for hours! I don't know about you, but I tune out at "Good morning" when I know someone is like that. So work ahead to make sure that you get your point across while your coworkers are still listening!
