Why?
Your attitude is noticeable through verbal and non-verbal cues.
So yes, your voice, along with your posture and facial expressions, affects how people perceive you. Make them work in your favor!
It is vital to be mindful of:
➜ Your tone
The tone and volume of your voice have to be as friendly and straightforward as possible. Use a calm and confident yet warm tone of voice to help customers feel both secure and relaxed. A monotone or harsh tone might set customers off.
➜ Posture
Keep it open and make sure it shows you are there to protect but also to provide assistance. A slouched posture might reflect on your professionalism and how serious people will take you.
➜ Facial expressions
Make sure that you present yourself as a safety provider and someone approachable who can help customers.
Security guards are often the first point of contact a customer has with a business, so a first impression is valuable! Greet every customer in a friendly and pleasant way!
